Andrew Eagle

Andrew-Eagle

Andrew Eagle is an author and English teacher who grew up in Australia. After travelling the world a bit he settled in Dhaka in 2008 because Bangladesh is his favourite country. His second home, however, is a village in Hatiya, Noakhali that kind of adopted him in the course of regular visits there since 1998. While Andrew studied law, his passion for writing dates from childhood. He often writes for The Daily Star where he worked full-time for five years, publishing feature articles, travelogues and op-ed pieces alongside fiction and poetry. His first book, ‘April’, co-authored with Tulip Chowdhury and published by Bengal Lights, is a joint memoir that focuses on contemporary life and travel in Bangladesh as well as cultural differences with the west.
