Dr. Partha Banerjee is a human rights activist, writer, educator, media critic, and musician. Born and raised in Kolkata, he now lives in New York with frequent visits to India. He has published three books – including his Bangla memoir Ghotikahini (2016). Music Box and Moonshine is his fourth book; two other works – both in Bangla – are due to come out in 2018. Partha has written numerous articles in print and online media from the U.S., India, and Bangladesh. His blog focuses on social and cultural issues of a Bengali-Indian immigrant in America going through a lifelong isolation and separation from home. His writings bring out the often-unknown reality of an immigrant life – with its nostalgia, alienation and emotional struggle.
