
Uzzul Hossain (Annonto Uzzul) is a poet, writer and Translator. Currently, he
is working with the Bishwo Shahitto Kendro (World Literature Center) as a
Deputy Director.
Uzzul published his first poetry book, Chaya Nirabata (Shadow of silence) in
- Before that, he edited a little magazine called DHOLSOMUDDUR. In 2015, Polish poet Kamil Norwid’s poems have been published in Bangla
translation by Uzzul. Austrian poet Georg Trakl’s selected poems translated by Uzzul have been published in 2016 and in 2018 he published his translation Book “Folk Tales of Poland”. Uzzul has translated Nobel laureate Polish poet Wisława Szymborska’s poetry which published in 2019. Currently, he is translating another Polish poet Zbigniew Herbert’s poetry. Uzzul is a life member of Bangla Academy. He is a regular writer at many literary magazines in Bangladesh and India. Uzzul was invited by The Polish Book Institute for attending IV International Polish Literature Translators Congress, on 8-12 June 2017 in Krakow, Poland. In November, 2018 he was invited by Goethe-Institute, Kolkata for joining with TOLEDO team in KOLKATA under the program Cities of Translators Berlin-Kolkata: Translator Expedition Project Kolkata.
